Church's view worries farmers - SA
Johannesburg - A Dutch Reformed Church (DRC)) moderator's remarks that the Bible supports the handover of land in the name of reconciliation was concerning, the Transvaal Agricultural Union (TAU) said on Wednesday.

This follows reported claims by Levubu DRC minister Petrus Kriel that the moderator of the Northern Transvaal Sinod Kobus Gerber presented Biblical texts that say it is farmers' religious duty to hand over tracts of land for "socialist land ownership" as a sign of reconciliation.

The TAU have issued a statement saying that the moderator's suggestion has caused "ructions" in the farming community.
