Ciro Rodriguez narrowly wins primary battle
Cuellar claims to be a democrat, but he endorsed Bush. Hopefully, these 151 votes hold and a real democrat will continue to represent TX-28.

U.S. Rep. Ciro Rodriguez has won the Democratic primary in the District 28 congressional race by 151 votes over Henry Cuellar of Laredo after a hand count by Zapata County officials.

Cuellar spokesman Colin Strother said the campaign is seriously considering a recount in light of the razor-thin finish.

"We're looking at all our options," Strother said from the campaign headquarters in Laredo.

In particular, Strother lashed out at Bexar County returns, which he said need to be examined closely.
