Kerry Criticizes Bush on U.S. Security

WASHINGTON (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate John Kerry on Monday criticized President Bush's record on homeland security, saying his Republican rival is "big on bluster and short on action" in protecting the nation.

Speaking to the International Association of Firefighters, a 263,000-member union that has endorsed his candidacy, the four-term Massachusetts senator argued that Bush talks tough on terrorism but has failed to back it up with the financial resources firefighters and other first responders need.

"I do not fault George Bush for doing too much in the war on terror, I believe he's done too little," Kerry said. "I think this administration has it backward. President Bush says we can't afford to fund homeland security. I say we can't afford not to."

2. More hypocrisy of the Right/Bushlickers - they quote the
one guy who "claimed" he could get Osama bin Laden's head on a silver platter to Clinton. Use this guy as the "Clinton let him get away" excuse for September 11.

Even though this guy was discredited as somebody who really only said something to the effect of "Hey, if we ever got him, do you want us to bring him in?"

Now, Paul O'Neill was actually at meetings in which the invasion of Iraq was put into the mix 10 days into the residency.

O'Neill's being portrayed as a disgruntled nutcase.

Grasping at straws to discredit Clinton, yet brushing off an insider who was there with Bush.

Hmm . . .
