Kerry's presence low-keyed in celebrity-rich Sun Valley ( AP )
CHUCK OXLEY
(03-18) 20:05 PST KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) --

Presumptive Democratic nominee John Kerry plans a muted presence in Idaho's star-studded Sun Valley for the next six days, attempting a break before what will surely be a grueling battle for the presidency.

Kerry was spotted on the sun-splashed slopes Thursday riding his snowboard. He arrived Wednesday.

A Secret Service detail has blocked access to his hideaway home north of town, but that was the only clue the resort community has of his presence.....

....Kerry's Idaho home actually belongs to his wife, Teresa Heinz, heiress to the Heinz ketchup fortune. It sits on the bank of the Big Wood River, which runs lazily through the high mountain drainage this time of year and is still covered thigh deep in a dirty gray snowpack.

The Heinz estate sits amid a few dozen gated mansions on acreage properties north of town, and is by far the largest and most secluded of them all.

Two huge stone fireplaces anchor the European Country-style manor. The whole property has an estimated value of about $8 million. Mature shrubs and trees planted close to the home block any views of the property's interior.
