Polish President Assures Bush His Troops Will Stay in Iraq
From the NY Times article:

ARSAW, March 19 — President Aleksander Kwasniewski told President Bush today that Polish troops would stay in Iraq "as long as needed, plus one day longer," his national security adviser said today.

The comments came a day after Mr. Kwasniewski said Poland felt it had been misled by information about illicit weapons that have not been found in Iraq.

Mr. Kwasniewski made the pledge in a phone call with Mr. Bush to mark the anniversary of the American-led invasion of Iraq, the adviser, Marek Siwiec, told reporters.

Mr. Kwasniewski's seemingly critical comment on Thursday about the Bush administration, the first he has made in public, did not appear to signal any shift in policy for Poland, which has a contingent of 2,500 troops in Iraq.

7. Remember the phrase...
Edited on Fri Mar-19-04 01:54 PM by plurality
"you can have a carpet of gold or we'll bury you in a carepet of bombs."

So I'm sure it was a little of both.

6. Kerry has also assured that US troops will stay in Iraq
At this point, unless it is Nader, I am unaware of a presidential candidate advocating the withdrawl of US troops.
