Trashed document not Palin pact, college says
Source: San Francisco Chronicle

Paperwork lifted from a Dumpster by students at California State University, Stanislaus was not part of Sarah Palin's speaking contract, but an earlier version of the agreement, campus President Hamid Shirvani said Wednesday.

"Somebody took pages four to nine of an earlier contract, unsigned, that the vice president for advancement threw in her recycling trash bin," Shirvani said as he spoke on the matter for the first time. "This is not the contract. There's no price on it."

Shirvani denied any wrongdoing on the university's part. He said he would cooperate fully with Attorney General Jerry Brown, who on Tuesday announced an investigation into allegations by a state senator that the campus improperly dumped not only the Palin contract, but other financial paperwork that public agencies, by law, are supposed to keep in their files.

So the shredded document was a draft? That sounds a bit more acceptable, but WHERE IS THE REAL DEAL? The taxpayers of California have every darn right to know how a public university is spending their money...especially if they may be paying for a silly goose like Palin to speak at a commencement.

1. Oh, that's weak. It's not THE contract because she didn't sign it yet?
But they're not denying it was a point from which Caribou Barbie was starting from.

5. a non-denial denial, of a sort.
They can deny it is the actual contract (which remains suspiciously AWOL) because it was only a working draft.
But, you hit it on the head. This represents exactly some of the terms that Bible Spice was seeking.

2. Saw him interviewed this afternoon and he is very defensive, even hostile
when asked how much Palin was being paid and by whom.

Kept saying it was the donors who was behind the entire thing and that the Univ. needs more donations and they knew Palin would bring in tons of dough even after all of her expenses were paid off.

He's full of shit and in full CYA mode after being busted.

3. This reminds me of the Vatican's response to the molestations

Cover-up, blaming others and refusing to provide memos and documentation.

And all the while professing they've done nothing wrong.

Bunch of self-righteous hypocrites.

7. If not her pact with CSU Stanislaus, could it be her pact with the devil?
;-)

And interestingly, it's quite reasonable that she's speaking at CSU Stanislaus -- often referred to as Turkey Tech.
