Democrats Say Bush Speeding U.S. Job Exports
http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=domesticNews&storyID=4611778§ion=news

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democrats accused President Bush on Saturday of speeding the export of U.S. manufacturing jobs to other countries and calling it a good thing.

In the Democrats' weekly radio address, Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm told the story of a refrigerator plant that closed recently in her state and moved its 2,700 jobs to Mexico. She said it had become an all-too-familiar American tale.

"But after losing over 2.7 million manufacturing jobs over the last four years, all the Bush administration can say is that shipping jobs overseas is a 'positive development,"' Granholm said.

"Americans deserve a president who will fight to create good jobs, not export them," she declared.

1. As usual, the Bush Company tried
to make itself look good by stating the opposite, and only causing more furor. Recall Enron. As that company started its precipitous slide into bankruptcy, all hell broke loose in Washington. When the stock was finally worth 50 cents and all the pension plans had gone up in smoke, people looked to the President for answers. The Ogre in the Oval Office had a surprised look, stuck out his hands and lifted his shoulders (see Bush as Chimp, in the DU Lounge).

After a week or so of trying to figure out what to say, he finally declared, "I didn't help them", meaning he wanted to show that he was a man of principle by not bailing out the corrupt Enron.

His foolish statement had an unintended effect: the people who lost their jobs, their 401(k)'s, everything, were furious at him for not doing something. He didn't count on that.

Same thing here. Bush's real motivation is: 1) help corporations earn more profits 2) outsource as many jobs as possible.

2. Outsourcing and work visas create discrimination.
Our government is sanctioning racial, age and gender discrimination by allowing males in their twenties from India to take most of the higher paying IT jobs and poor, hispanics to take the low paying jobs.

Agree or disagree, but how about some feedback to flesh out this statement to see if it "flies."
