SF Senator Receives Threats Over Palin Probe

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS 5 / AP) ―

Sarah Palin's scheduled appearance at a California university is sparking more than just controversy. A state senator who has brought attention to the deal said he has been getting hate messages.

San Francisco Senator Leland Yee's office said they have received several faxes and emails with racial slurs, homophobic messages and even threats on the senator's life.

His office said the messages have been sent following Yee's call for greater transparency regarding former vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin's scheduled visit to California State University Stanislaus.

The Senate sergeant-at-arms is investigating the threats.

Before she went "mainstream" she and her husband openly attended meetings of anti Federal Government groups. She was the keynote speaker for a wacky secessionist group. Most of these people are racist, anti-Semitic and gun toting dangerous.

I worry all the time about the people who have to stand up to this violent trash and their code talking leaders.

They're stupid enough to think this dumbass, ignorant, race-baiting, fearmongering grifter should be a national leader. That tells you plenty about their capacity for reason and logic and intelligent thought.

I have only seen Palin speak at the podium, pep rally style on youtube clips, I guess she avoids all questions,
even from her adoring fans.

We met him at some of his SF fundraisers and unfortunately, lost him as our supervisor when he went on to win his race.
