Barter Protest At Sue Lowden's Headquarters

Democrats launched a protest at Sue Lowden For Senate headquarters in Reno today over Lowden's comments that patients should "barter" with their doctor.

Democrats say the process shows Lowden is out of touch with average Nevadans who need help with health care insurance. Today they paraded past her headquarters with live chickens and people in costume as well as a doctor who decried the barter system.

According to Phoebe Sweet of the state Democratic Party, "It's just unrealistic as any doctor will tell you to think that on any large scale you're going to be bartering with chickens or goats or any other sort of animal or service for health care."

Lowden supporters responded by saying Harry Reid is not the answer to the health care crisis. Campaign Chairman Robert Uithoven says' "Harry Reid and his Democratic friends can come up with barnyard animals a lot faster than they can come up jobs...which is unfortunate for our state. We have record unemployment, record recession and records debt."

Seriously, a Dr. can go to a store and get a broiler that's FDA inspected for 2 bucks, ready to cook...why would he take a chicken for his services?
