Some truckers plan boycott over Arizona immigration law

WASHINGTON � Two or three times a week, truck driver Jesus Serrano hauls loads of Mexican-grown produce from warehouses in Nogales, Ariz., which is just across the U.S.-Mexico border, to distribution centers in Los Angeles.

5. He owns/operates a rig. He knows 70 other guys also boycotting.

Slightly different than owning 70 rigs.

That being said, I expect more traffic to shift to California/New Mexico/Texas, just to avoid travel delays associated with having one's citizenship inspected.

Serrano is an independent owner-operator (which means he owns the truck he drives)
and he has rounded up 70 other truckers that have agreed to boycott.
It's NOT about a 'truck company owner'.

Hopefully he will get the full 200 truckers to join the boycott!

...as far as I am concerned, AZ is a totally racist state with the bullshit law that went into effect today.

Shameful, just fucking shameful. I am the grandchild of 4 immigrant grandparents who came here to make a better life. Although my mother was born here, she was raised in Europe. I consider myself more 1st generation than 2nd generation because my mother could not speak one word of English when she started elementary school and a foreign language was spoken in my home.

Except for native Americans, we are ALL immigrants ~~ this racial profiling against those who are of brown skin is absolutely sickening...and absolutely racist to the max.
