LYNCHBURG — Fox News commentator Glenn Beck, known for his conservative views and in-your-face personality, will deliver the commencement address at Liberty University’s May 15 graduation, Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr announced this morning.

“Beck is one of the few courageous voices in the national media standing up for the principles upon which this nation was founded,” Falwell said in a news release.

19. A real "Scholar" with impeccable academic accomplishments
This guy never gradiated (graduated)from anything resembling a university

In 1996, while working for a New Haven-area radio station, Beck was admitted to Yale University through a special program for non-traditional students. Beck took one theology class, "Early Christology," and then dropped out.

21. The man is certifiably crazy! Can you imagine any OTHER
college in the world that would invite a lunatic to speak at ALL, with official sanction from the college administration?

This proves Liberty U is not anything resembling a real college, other than a finishing school for the paranoid.

It's obvious that the students are completely brain washed. I hope I never meet any of them.

22. Remember th Bush folks used to hire their law school grads from
Liberty University. Monica Goodling, or something who gave "litmus tests" to applicants was one of them, if I recall.

Not only tells you a lot about Liberty U, but about the Bush circus, too.

31. Monica Goodling was from Regent University's law school
She never attended Liberty.

Regent is Pat Robertson's school. I realize that Pat and Jerry were indistinguishable in many ways, however.

32. To be fair, not only from Liberty. Also from Trinity and from Pat Robertson's law school.
Goodling was one of the few grads of Robertson's then fledging law school who worked for the admin. who managed to pass the bar on the first try.

Yes, Goodling was bad. Apparently, that was no problem, as long as she was hiring political appointees. (Screw separation of church and state, right? A religious test was fine.) However, when she was hiring for civil service positions, it was not ok. And she used the same test for all hires. Which turned out not to really matter all that much because Cheney made a bunch of political appointee positions into civil service positions just before the Eight Years of Horror ended.

30. Being founded by Jerry Falwell is all you really need to know
If that isn't enough, then all the guest speakers they have had over the years, including Ed Meese and Oliver North, should be.

23. We drive by (through) it on 460 going to Roanoke
it has expanded across the dual divided highway in recent years.

You can look up there rules for students on line (whacky)

When Jerry died it turns out that he was insured to the teeth. LU is completely out of debt now. Falwell famously had to borrow money at the beginning of the school and he got it from..... Rev. Moon. A no interest loan from what I understand.

little accreditation club, too!
