Rand Paul skips ‘Meet the Press’ but remains show’s top topic
Source: Miami Herald

By John Stamper
Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader

LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Republican U.S. Senate nominee Rand Paul’s decision to cancel his planned appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” Sunday morning didn’t stop him from being the dominating topic of discussion during the show’s early minutes.

Host David Gregory suggested that Paul, an eye surgeon from Bowling Green, may have found the national spotlight “a little too hot” over the past week.

Paul triggered a firestorm of criticism and questions when he said in recent media interviews that private businesses should be able to decide whether they want to serve minorities, even though he abhors racism and discrimination. He also said President Obama sounded “un-American” for criticizing BP for the Gulf Coast oil spill and that “sometimes accidents happen” when discussing the recent coal mine fatalities.

2. I think a no-show should make him fair game for any attack.
That's the price you pay for being a dumbass.

5. Rand Paul has proven himself a coward with that move.
What a wimp. He doesn't have the courage of his own racist convictions.

Now Rand is hiding behind Daddy's apron strings.

3. Of course, The Narrative is the Republicans will take over House
and Senate. Rand Paul is one their tickets to the takeover.

The fact, that he declined to be on the MTP, opened the
door to to even more discussion about him.

Did you catch Paul Gigot, WSJ explain that with a Republican
Congress --Obama and the Republicans will have to work together
to get things done. In other words the solution to the present
gridlock is to have Republican House and Senate. "Obama
will have to come to the Center like Clinton. The Narrative
(Media) marches on.

6. Aha! The Media Narrative marches on. George Will, ABC
Sunday Morning Show. 70% of Republicans identify themselves
as Conservative and only 40% of Democrats identify themselves
as Liberal. This I think argues for Republican Win in November.

The majority on this panel agreed Rand can still win Kentucky.

7. My Neighbor & I Were Just Discussing Him... She Told Me That The Repukes...
despite their FIRST initial reaction are NOW starting to rally around him and stating that he's 25 points ahead in the polls, and that in the end... as they ALWAYS do... will work HARD to get him elected!!

Their "group think" stays solid and they march in lock step! So since you said the panel agreed that he can still win, well then the die is cast!! When it's all said and done, MSM likes the juicy tidbits, but will probably HELP Paul in the end!! Getting so much coverage keeps him in the limelight and then the cries of "piling on" start! You know, VOTE FOR THE UNDERDOG who is under attack!

Works like a charm for them, what more can I say??
