President Says His Government Does Not Regret Taking Part in Iraq War
DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) - Poland's president said Tuesday he does not regret supporting the U.S.-led war on Iraq because it served to oust Saddam Hussein.
Last week, President Aleksander Kwasniewski said he felt "misled" by U.S. intelligence about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction. The Polish leader also said he would not withdraw troops from Iraq.

"The news (about weapons of mass destruction) turned out not to be true, but we are not regretful ... because Saddam's regime was dictatorial and used those weapons against its people," the visiting Kwasniewski told reporters.

"The world is a better place without Saddam's regime. This is part of the war on terror," he said, speaking in Polish

2. How much money does the U.S. give Poland? Especially lately?
Of course, this is entirely off issue, but I was just wondering...

Not that it would have anything to do with the Polish president's statement of course.

I mean, I was just wondering.

3. Wow, does that send a chill down my spine
the "War on Terror" is so undefined, it can basically be used as an excuse for initiating any pre-emptive action. I find that very frightening.

4. So, where is the Polish army headed next
I am sure he will soon discover that BUSH/PNAC have lots of other invasions for him to join. Of course, he may not make it through the next election himself.

5. Boy does this sentence tell it all
"The news (about weapons of mass destruction) turned out not to be true, but we are not regretful ... because Saddam's regime was dictatorial and used those weapons against its people," the visiting Kwasniewski told reporters.

Turns out he didn't have the WMDs but glad he's gone because he used those weapons on his people. Anyone else notice any contradiction in this sentence?

7. Well, Saddam did use chemical weapons on the Kurds...in the 1980s
Under Bush I and Rumsfeld's watch. And the Kurds aren't exactly "his" people.
