MIT to cut electricity use by 15 percent over three years
Source: Examiner

MIT and utility Nstar announced an energy efficiency initiative to cut its electricity usage by 15 percent over the next three years. If met, the reduction will be 34 million kilowatt-hours, or about the same as 4,500 homes in Massachusetts in a year.

Dubbed “MIT Efficiency Forward,” the program has a goal of cutting electricity use by 15 percent over three years through innovative programs, substantial student, faculty, and staff engagement, and the piloting of new technologies and approaches at MIT.

1. They can start saving energy by turning down the heat in the dorms.

3. Air conditioning EVERY space except the greenhouse tool shed doesn't help. Everyone
has to cut back on that luxury (Well, not the computer labs!)

Glad MIT is doing something, though.
