1999: Clarke refuse to testify under oath citing privilege
National Security Adviser Condoleezza Rice on Monday continued to maintain her public testimony before the panel investigating the Sept. 11 attacks would represent a breach of separation between congress and the executive -- a claim once used by Bush critic Richard Clarke!

I bet it's all lies, when did Clarke have to testify in 1999 and about what?

5. It certainly wasn't regarding 3000 DEAD Americans
Drudge, Hannity, Limbaugh, et all have no sense of proportion. "See they do it!" regardless of the context.

I'm waiting for a devastating article by some Moderate to Liberal pundit detail the gross hypocrisy regarding "executive privilege" and the Clinton impeachment era.

6. ummmmm.....
From the link:

"The rule apparently is that any member of the White House staff who has not been confirmed is not to be allowed to testify before the Congress. They can perform briefings, but they are not to give testimony. And that in response to that rule, Mr. Clarke will not be coming."

clearly this was supposed to have some relationship to Condi's refusal to testify before an INDEPENDENT commission. Just as clearly - apples and oranges.

8. Things are different since 9/11.
Or so the * administration keeps telling us.

If this is true, it wouldn't be that surprising. We all know that Clinton played lawyerly tricks. It's one of the things that the freepers howl about regularly. Hell, it seems to be the reason that freepville was founded.
