Chen wound caused by gunshot - US Scientists
By Jimmy Chuang
STAFF REPORTER
Wednesday, Mar 31, 2004,Page 3

Three US forensic scientists yesterday said that President Chen Shui-bian's (???) stomach wound was caused by a gunshot.

"All three of us agree that the president sustained a gunshot wound," Cyril Wecht, a respected forensic scientist, told reporters.

Flanked by trajectory analyst Michael Haag and crime-scene-identification analyst Timothy Palmbach, Wecht said that the trio had visited Chen at the Presidential Office yesterday morning and carried out a careful examination of the president's wound.

"We are forensic scientists and we make sure what and how the suspect caused the damage or injury," Wecht said. "But we are not here to decide who committed the crime. In addition, we are not law enforcement officers in Taiwan. We are independent forensic scientists and we are here to assist local law enforcement officers with their investigations."

1. We believe it was the same bullet that hit Kennedy and Connelly
which traveled through a time warp to the future, after which it went back in time and assassinated the Arch-Duke of the Austro-Hungarian Empire.

Just a comment on magic bullets and assassinations - I will admit that I don't really have much of a specific point here.

2. One conclusion is now almost certain: Gambling interests did it.
Now that it's clear this was indeed a bullet wound, in both victims, it is also clear that this could NOT have been a Chen stunt.

Further, the careful, fast, pre-planned exit, the relatively skilled shooting, and the manipulation of the bullet--removing some of the charge to reduce the speed and thus the severity of the wound--and the type of bullet used--a jacketed bullet hardened to prevent more severe wound--tells us a great deal. It says the shooter(s) were professional hit men who had carefully planned their assault.

Since there is absolutely no way to guarantee, traveling at 17 mph, that a shot will not grievously injure or kill the target, the idea that Chen would risk his life in such a stunt is preposterous.

However, it's also clear the gunmen did NOT intend to kill Chen. If they did, they would have fired at his head, not at his lower torso. Therefore, they were probably NOT political opponents either.

They clearly wanted a high profile incident which would produce sympathy votes for Chen, but not a murder which would have postponed the election.

In view of the notoriously heavy election gambling in Taiwan, all of these facts point to a racketeering stunt designed to produce a favorable result for Chen and huge winnings for some pretty slimy gamblers. This looks to me like a gamblers hit. Pure and simple.

3. I do NOT believe gambling interest tried to assassinate President Chen
it would be too easy to follow who was betting on whom and trace back to the assassins. This type of Presidential betting is done quite openly. That's the purposed, to let anyone bet. Plus Chen was behind in the polls right. According to all the honest Media Whores in Taiwan! So why kill him if you've already won your bet?

Fear means a vote for the KMT. No nothing about Taiwanese if opposite is true. Maybe the KMT Fascist think this way? NOT.

Quick exit? Laugh! Anyone ever been to an Abian street rally parade, in Tainan? LOL.100 cans of sardines packed into a 12oz Taiwan Beer. All the fire crackers and bottle rockets. The scooters double parked and running. The cars pulled over on the street.

The shooter(s) never lifted their hand/arm above their nipples. Never stretched out their arm. Gun held close to body and fired. That's why the bad aim. That's why the aiming for the mid section.

Everyone knows their is no other leader for the DPP who could even come close to 33% votes.

Didn't mean to kill? Please!
