Kashmir rebels 'beat girl to death'

Four militants have beaten to death the nine-year-old daughter of a suspected informer, police in Indian-administered Kashmir say.
The girl's 12-year-old sister was seriously injured in the attack in Rajouri district on Thursday night.

The attackers were allegedly looking for the girls' father, Nissar Hussain, in the village of Khablan, 180 kilometres (110 miles) north-west of the winter capital, Jammu

This is going to go over real well, esspecially when there a million plus soldiers on the borders....

They mention Muslim militants in the tenth paragraph, but the victims are also Muslim ("Hussain" is a popular Arabic surname as you've probably heard, named for a grandson of Mohammed).

On the one hand it seems strange to omit this critical piece of information, on the other I wonder if the world wouldn't be a better place if murders were reported in terms of people instead of their deities.
