Jailed Trafficant Mulls Presidential Bid

Hey! I want my Trafficant Avatar and I want it right #@*& now, ya bunch Flaming Comsymps, ya!

Actually, having Trafficant in the race could be a welcome bit of comic relief. Does anybody else remember Pat Paulsen running for President back in the late 1960's and early 1970's? It was priceless.

3. Personally........

I like Traficant. I don't think he is the least corrupt politician but hey the competition for being corrupt is fierce.

He speaks his mind and I do believe he was ambushed by the Rethuglicans.

He certainly would be a welcomed inmprovement over Selectman Bush (yeah I thought that was cute but it probably wasn't)

4. what are you talking about?

if you look at his record, he was pretty much a republican, except on free trade. he is like a pat buchanan clone: pro-life, anti-gay,, etc. their records are very very similiar. Democrats hated him just as much as Republicans did, because Traficant voted for Hastert for speaker instead of Gephardt. Don't you people ever forget that! He was the only Dem to do that and as a result Gephardt placed him on no commitees in the last congress.

I said I like him because he speaks his mind. Do you also remember that many of our Democrats notably Gephardt, Daschle rolled over and played dead on the Iraq war issue? I hope you've not forgotten that.

good proposal, however, which i COMPLETELY support.

Congressman Traficant introduces Constitution Amendment protecting Social Security and Medicare
Traficant's resolution would amend the Constitution by requiring that the Social Security and Medicare trust funds be held in separate and independent trust funds segregated from all other moneys controlled by the federal government. The measure stipulates that the money in the Social Security and Medicare trust funds can only be spent on Social Security and Medicare.

This is a great idea, I think. I don't believe that we should spend SS or Medicare on ANYTHING else besides these two programs. We owe it to our seniors to keep this money completely protected, otherwise we aren't doing our duty.
