Tom Nadeau, longtime reporter in NorCal, dies
Source: Marysville Appeal Democrat

He was an old-school reporter, before they were called journalists and their numbers reduced by the Internet — a writer who would see the story in his own death but likely insist that other, more important matters be covered.

Tom Nadeau, who covered Northern California for a half-dozen newspapers, was found dead at his Marysville home Thursday after a call to 911, a friend said.

Sam Pierce said he'd stopped by the Marysville house the day before after Nadeau didn't make his usual regular contacts to friends. Pierce couldn't get inside but saw Nadeau sleeping and heard him say something about how he didn't want to be awakened from a deep sleep.

A firefighter was able to enter the house the next day and discovered Nadeau had died. Pierce said Nadeau was in his early 60s and may have died from a stroke.

Nadeau also co-hosted a local liberal talk radio show, Left Turn on Bird Street. A great reporter and author.
