Douglas County recount complete

The final count is in for Douglas County.

Assistant Attorney General JoAnne Kloppenburg took the county with 8,676 votes compared to Justice David Prosser’s 3,815 votes in the race for Wisconsin's Supreme Court.

Kloppenburg gained three votes, one each in the towns of Amnicon and Solon Springs, and Superior’s 5th District, but she lost one vote in the town of Wascott after a random drawing of the ballots when an absentee vote was rejected. Her net gain was two votes following a recount of the ballots cast in the April 5 election.

Prosser gained a single vote in the city’s 1st District following the recount.

Or are we talking about a run of the mill recount with very few votes shifting around?

is that when serious irregularities arise we have recounts, which essentially legitimize the irregularities. Instead, we should void the whole damn election, have a do over and consider criminal investigations of those involved with the original irregularities. That would put some big time pucker factor into anyone who wants to play with the vote tallies or to play with how the votes are tallied.

If all that is happening is the ballots are being re-run through the same tabulators they were originally run through why would we expect and significant changes.

Here is the point. In recent news the cell user community in specific iPhone and Android user have read news accounts about how their cell phone maybe tracking their movements. These computers were programmed to do this tracking not by the salesperson but by the software developers. The software developers wrote that tracking function into the software which is installed on the phone at the factory. The majority of the sales people have no clue that it is even possible.

A second real life example: your car may have a 'black box' chip that 'records' say the last 60 seconds of your travel. In an accident that data could be retrieved and used to demonstrate fault.

Back to elections Our voting computers could easily be programmed with 'features' that our local poll workers have no idea exist. As long as we the people have no idea what the voting machine are programmed to do we will not know for sure who wins. Simply re-running the ballots through the same machines will produce the same results. Votes can be stolen in small numbers within the margin of error and no one including the poll workers would suspect.

We the people need an audit of the voting system in the State of Wisconsin. Unless and until we have a complete hand recount of every vote cast in the Supreme Court race we will not know.

It's time that we return to all paper ballots for all elections. Local, state and federal elections. We can afford to wait a day or two for accurate results. Trusted results. Audible, reproducible results.

Why should the bloodline of a Democracy the one person one vote right be run by private companies. We the People need to trust.
