Wash. teacher finally shaves with bin Laden caught

Source: KREM/KGW

Ephrata Middle School teacher Gary Weddle vowed on September 11, 2001 to stop shaving until Osama bin Laden was caught.

On Monday, after almost ten years, he finally shaved off his lengthy beard.

KREM 2 News covered this story back in 2003, when he had not shaved for almost two years.

At the time Weddle said, "Everyday I'm reminded that there's terrible tragedies in the world and this isn't the first and it won't be the last."

1. I remember hearing about this story when I was last in E. Washington.

The ironic thing is that he and his beard had a striking resemblance to OBL and his beard.
