WOOD TV8The Rapid millage passed narrowly Tuesday night, with the final margin just 136 votes.
Those against the tax increase told 24 Hour News 8 they have officially accepted the loss.

The seven-year expanded Rapid millage would raise an extra $1.8 million a year to start, backers said, and ramp up to an extra $3.8 million once most of the enhancements are running.
The owner of a home with a taxable value of $50,000 would pay an extra $17.50 per year in property taxes -- the average figure over the seven-year period -- to make it all happen, backers said.
