Obama Seeks Dialogue with US Latino Community

Washington, May 4 (Prensa Latina) The U.S. government said it seeks a dialogue with the Latino community to evaluate the role of this minority in the country''s development.

During a conference by phone with reporters, executive officials presented the idea, though without specifying dates or details of those conversations.

Obama has a particular interest in this population, approaching the 2012 presidential elections, which the president aspires to contest for a second term.

However, Obama will have to fulfill campaign promises, such as the achievement of comprehensive immigration reform that benefits more than 11 million undocumented immigrants, mostly Hispanic.

1. IOW, re-election campaign is in full swing. I wonder if he'll re-visit
original Americans as well. He made them some pretty big promises 2007-2008.

with the Latino community, since he has pretty much left them high and dry since being elected.

He would be smart to find progressives/activists who are part of that community for advice.
