White House slams 2 GOP drilling proposals
Source: UPI

WASHINGTON, May 5 (UPI) -- The White House Thursday slammed two Republican proposals to kick-start a broad renewal of offshore oil drilling.

Both proposals were put forward by U.S. Rep. Richard "Doc" Hastings and could get a vote in the U.S. House as early as Thursday.

The Restarting American Offshore Leasing Now Act, H.R. 1230 with 67 sponsors, and the Putting the Gulf of Mexico Back to Work Act, H.R. 1229, with 70 sponsors, would hurt safety and environmental reforms "the administration implemented in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill" in the Gulf of Mexico, the Office of Management and Budget said in a statement of administration policy. "These reforms strengthen requirements for issues ranging from well design to workplace safety to corporate accountability, and they require operators to show that they can contain a subsea oil spill like the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The administration opposes H.R. 1230 and H.R. 1229, ... both of which would undercut these critical reforms."

1. Any more questions about who controls the Republican puppets in DC?
Of course, the MSM response will be somthing like this:
"Obama refuses opportunity to stop US dependency on foreign oil."

And as usual, the idiots will believe that there is all the
oil this country consumes in their back yards.

No thought of the fact that oil is a GLOBAL commodity and
what ever small amount might be found would be sold on the global market
and not be stored away in special containers for US citizen's use exclusively.

I repeat. Idiots.
NO fucking clue what so ever as to the rules of the game.

3. 2% of the price of gasoline depends on DRILL BABY DRILL. 2 fucking stupid percent.
The Saudis are obviously jacking up the price of oil to increase profits so they can placate their population to reduce the chance of a "situation."

The delusional persist with their Fox-fueled (no pun intended)
fantasy that there are trillions of gallons of oil under their
picnic tables reserved especially for THEIR private benefit.
If ONLY that black man in the White House would behave.

Fucking idiots and racists.
Desperate to blame every aspect of their demise on "HIM."
No knowledge of reality or desire to learn about it.

7. there was a "drill baby drill" tool here in my office
back during the last run up.

I politely told him (even though he was in red faced spewing mode) that all oil is traded on the open commodities market. That any oil found by a corporation is theirs to sell, not the US's.

He responded with, and this is classic, "then we should take over the oil and keep it for ourselves!"

Smiling at him, I said, then you are in favor of nationalizing the oil corporations?

He sputtered.

I laughed at him and walked away.
