Romney Says Obama’s Health Care Law Should Be Repealed
Source: The New York Times

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Mitt Romney came to Michigan on Thursday to tackle the single biggest liability in the early stages of his Republican presidential bid — the health care overhaul he enacted as the Massachusetts governor five years ago — by calling for a repeal of the national health care law President Obama signed last year.

But even before he set foot in town, he faced fresh questions from conservatives about the many similarities between the law he once championed for his home state and the national one that is now a central component of the Republican argument against Mr. Obama.

The latest rebuke came hours before his speech from an influential referee in Republican politics, The Wall Street Journal editorial page, which wrote that Mr. Romney was “compromised and not credible” on the central campaign question of Mr. Obama’s health policies.

Mr. Romney’s address here, his aides said, had been intended to help him move past such criticisms before the campaign engages in earnest and focus instead on his own proposals to enact a “free market” approach that could replace that of the president and Congressional Democrats.

5. The republicans have a list that gets longer and longer of litmus tests that must be passed in order
for them to consider you a serious candidate. They really do need to split as a party so that genuine conservatives can vote their conscience and not have to cow-tow to the crazies. The teabaggers need their own party and their own candidates that think like they do.

15. Repeal of HCR is Top of the List Though, The Insurance Companies are Desperate
…to reinstate their pre-existing condition exlcusions before all the cancer cases from Fukushima start pouring into the hospitals in a few years.

The insurance companies know how many people REALLY died as a result of Chernobyl, and Fukushima will be far worse before it is over.

They would be able to use those exclusions to deny coverage in a large number of cases, perhaps most of them, given how long cancer takes to
develop and how unstable the job market is. Paying for all that cancer treatment would be a HUGE hit on their bottom line.
If they have to spend a billion or two to avoid all that, it would be a bargain for them.

7. Oooh, now you've gone and done it.
I was pilloried on this very site, pelted with rocks and garbage, for daring to make a comical jest about Willard "Mitt" Romney's temple garment.

I still have bad dreams about it. (shudder)

11. If you bring him too close to a heat lamp, he just melts down into
the molten wax whence he came.

A better headline: "Romeny Calls for his Own Repeal" (since Obama's plan is Romney-care writ national).

14. Romney is a cheat and a liar.
He shoved aside a woman governor of Mass to get on the ballot. He won and then he was gov. for a couple of months and decided to run for president. He is a fraud.

16. Romney was a lying sack of bull pucky when he was Gov of Mass..
he attached his fingers for success on the tail of a very progressive Massachusetts legislature, which was ALREADY ABOUT TO PUT TOGETHER Romneycare, (under another name, of course). He KNEW that he would never be seen as successful, just because he buried lots of state highway maintenance and bridge repair work to pay for the small reductions in taxes he got through, (while increasing motor vehicle fees and other user fees by over 200%)

Romney is NOTHING BUT A FRAUD IN A GOOD LOOKING SUIT!

19. There's a pot/kettle joke in here somewhere.
Since I can't find it I will just tell this lying hypocrite to stow it. I hate what Health Insurance Reform became, too, but I don't want to here about it from this jackass.

20. '...Mr. Romney was "compromised and not credible"...'
....I know, WSJ, I've been waiting for months for Mr. Romney to address and assure a concerned public that his family or relatives had nothing to do with the Mountain Meadows Massacre....

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain_Meadows_massacre

....to the best of my knowledge, he hasn't said a word....
