Panel on Nuclear Waste Disposal to Propose Above-Ground Storage
Source: New York Times

WASHINGTON — A commission created to help resolve the impasse over the disposal of the nation’s nuclear waste will propose establishing one or more sites where used reactor fuel could be stored in steel and concrete structures on the earth’s surface for decades, members of the commission said this week.

6. Not a bad idea, really
Designate large-scale, non-agricultural land plots owned by the bourgeoisie for the task and bury the spent fuel there. Then proceed to build wind farms and nuclear plants on the property.

I think safety regulations and monitoring will get quite a boost when the shit is in the right backyard.

12. That is the best idea ever
And anyone convinced that nuclear waste can be stored safely will be the lucky recipients of their own above ground sarcophagus, provided by the fine workers at Halliburton.

5. We'll "temporarily" store it at theses sites for several decades, then they'll start leaking, then
then we'll create exclusion zones around them as they leak into the groundwater.
Future generations will curse us for leaving them with this mess.
