IMF Chief Ordered Held Without Bail in Sex Case

International Monetary Fund chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was ordered held without bail after an appearance in a New York City courtroom Monday.

Attorneys representing Mr. Strauss-Kahn, who has been charged with sexually assaulting a chamber maid at a Manhattan hotel, argued that their client was not a flight risk and was prepared to post a $1 million bail package.

Prosecutors said the allegations against Mr. Strauss-Kahn were substantial and that he had little motivation to return to court to answer to the charges.

4. Good on the judge. Clearly they know that France can opt not to extradite.

This fool DSK even LEFT HIS CELL PHONE behind at his hotel room when he tried to make his flight back home and thus asked to get caught.

But I have a few legal questions. The article said he was not required to enter a plea? I thought entering a plea happens when bail is discussed.

In these charges what is the legal difference between a "criminal sexual act" and "sexual abuse"
