China Gives Pakistan 50 Fighter Jets
Source: The New York Times

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan — China has agreed to immediately provide 50 JF-17 fighter jets to Pakistan, a major outcome of a visit by Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani to Beijing this week, Pakistani officials said Thursday.

China and Pakistan have jointly produced the JF-17 aircraft, but the new planes would be equipped with more sophisticated avionics, the officials said. The latest jet fighters would be paid for by China, they said.

The announcement came as Pakistan’s already tense relations with the United States soured further after the killing of Osama bin Laden deep inside Pakistan on May 2.

Last week, Pakistan’s spy chief denounced the United States in a rare briefing before Parliament in which he condemned the American raid for breaching Pakistan’s sovereignty. Parliament, in turn, called for the government to revisit relations with the United States.

9. Of course.
The Government offered no official comment on the fact the Chinese stripped and examined the EP-3 that collided with one of their fighters during Bush's admin.

Governments don't talk publicly about these things while negotiations are afoot.

18. Since "blanket parties" are on the menu today...
If I were to use a mathematical equation to insult someone and their intelligence... I'd probably double check that the equation was actually accurate.

IQ > 0

Since IQ is derived from the following formula:
IQ = (MA / CA) * 100

Where the variables:
MA is equal to the calculated Mental Age of the individual as an integer.
CA is the Chronological Age of the individual represented as an integer.

Assuming that there is not enough data available to yield and accurate value for an IQ beyond 160, and an IQ of 0 would infer an individual has no brain activity. You equation doesn't make any sense.

I could understand if you meant this to be overly sarcastic, by presenting the statement:
" An IQ < 0 could figure that one out " or " An IQ = 0 could figure that one out "
Even though it not possible to score a zero or yield a negative number for the IQ value, the implied sarcasm would dictate the meaning of the statement.

Sometimes it is wiser to not click the reply link in order to offer nothing more than an insult. But if being a dick is what gets you through the day... more power to ya.

10. Pakistan arming itself to the teeth to keep dreaming of
conquering India and converting it to an Islamic state a la 13th century.

Otherwise, why would Pakistan need 50 fighter jets on top of the 400 or so they already have?

12. Apparently they are swapping out some of their older aircraft, and have orders for as many as 250
"...the Pakistan Air Force has a confirmed order for 150 JF-17's, which may increase to 250 aircraft." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JF-17_Thunder

Interesting timing on this "immediate delivery" though.

Or not.

25. To defend against China

This is also the same reason India is getting the future Russian t-50 Sukhoi PAKFA. Oh and yeah...China will use Pakistan as a meatsheild if it(China) ever decides to attack India, sadly Pakistan is too blinded by its age old hatred for India(After all the reason for the formation of Pakistan itelf was based on its hatred of India) and is now pretty much a Chinese pawn.

Edited on Sat May-21-11 10:58 AM by Vehl
oh sure...Pakistan will return the "remains" of the helicopter to America..but only after more than ample samples of stealth materials have been given to China, and after China had scoped out the remains molecule by molecule.
