Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Must Release Names, Addresses of Pot Growers, (San Francisco) Says
Source: SF Weekly

Medical marijuana patients don't seem to care where exactly their cannabis is grown. As long as the pot has been lab-tested and is free of mold and pesticides, patients seem satisfied.

But that information alone is not enough for the San Francisco Department of Public Health anymore. DPH, which licenses and polices the city's 26 storefront cannabis collectives, announced on Friday that it will ask every dispensary to provide a list -- with names and addresses -- of every grower with which it does business.

The result would be a "disaster" for the city's burgeoning medical marijuana industry, according to Kevin Reed, president of The Green Cross medical cannabis delivery service.

... A master list of names and addresses, available to anyone -- including the federal government and common crooks?

2. How sad.
This is meant for public health and is a perfectly sensible practice, but it's going to end up getting honest businesspeople raided.

4. Every grower I know will pull their product out of the market.
This is a back-door attempt to simply eliminate the whole issue.

Fuck 'em, let everyone go back underground.

7. Its more regulation to cut access
I have been an activist for legalization for a long time..
This is pure BULLPucky to regulated and restrict the suppliers..
This is to restrict access and get info on members means to supply their closed Collectives..
You can paint a Ford any Color , but its still a Ford....

Not one City or County in California has followed the spirit of The Cannabis laws allowing patient the access..
In other words every single Dispensary and Collective are illegal or made this way because Local Governments get creative with their Ordinances or re interpret the states law..
Its all about eradication.. Not Safe access at all...
ITs not about any harm to the Public at all.. Even though thats always the excuse used by all the Local governments...

8. A state list of medical marijuana growers
Edited on Wed May-25-11 03:09 PM by felix_numinous
would only make sense if they offered immunity and protection to those growers. If the states could somehow protect MM growers and users, this could open the door to further legalization.

I think the only way this could work is if states sue the MIC complex for profiting off of domestic terrorism. They have become a domestic threat to national security because they virtually can come in any house and shoot anyone. If we are not 'innocent until proven guilty' anymore, then this is not a free country.

It would be a lot simpler if the 'drug war' was just a battle over the sovereignty of state rights vs. federal reach, but this is a battle with the Big Pharma/prison industrial complex arm of the MIC.

Their aim is not to serve or protect Americans, but to make $$$$ under the cover of the Patriot Act by making enemies of people who do not go along with their violent programming.

It has become obvious that the federal government does not or cannot take them on, but what about from a state level? If all the states unified around our rights to health (social programs and MM use), education (public school and college funding), and welfare (social programs for homeless, vets and poor). The states are losing the fight for our infrastructure against a dangerous non American cabal of profiteers--and they seem to be getting worse.

I hope everyone is safe today. Excuse the  seems like I am doing that a lot lately.
