Gingrich takes few questions, avoids press at N.H. town hall
Source: The Washington Post

DERRY, N.H. — Republican Newt Gingrich seems to have developed a new strategy in his second week of campaigning for the White House: take as few questions as possible and ignore the press.

At an event Wednesday billed as a town hall, Gingrich stood behind a lectern and gave a 15-minute speech, then took questions for about two minutes, raising the question of whether an event is really a town hall if the speech outlasts the question-and-answer session.

In the lobby of Derry Medical Center here, the former speaker of the House vowed to repeal President Obama’s health-care law and replace it with a state-based, free-market approach.

“I will fight for the repeal of Obamacare until it is repealed in its entirety,” Gingrich said. “Obamacare is not only unconstitutional, it is an assault to the vision of the founders, who carefully created a government of enumerated and limited powers, not a government of unlimited and open-ended powers.”

3. The Newt sure isn't getting off to a good start here
Just wait until the other candidates start attacking him. I've been saying for a while that I think the rest of the field will work together to drive him out of the race as soon as they can.

4. Vanity run, he has no chance whatsoever.
He saw how much Palin is making grifting, and he wants to fleece some of the sheep before all their sheckels are gone.

6. This sounds famliar
Isn't that what Sarwah did? Ditched the media. They were asking gotcha questions and the media was biased. Sounds like maybe gnewt has a copy of her campaign strategy from 2008?

8. well, Newton, "ObamaCare" just had a direct effect on my finances
I took a new job at the end of February, and I had to go 3 months without insurance--the waiting period. I was filling out the requisite paperwork today for the policy to take effect on June 1st. I have a 19-year old son, he's working part time at a job that doesn't provide health insurance. And he's going to the local community college part-time. Before healthcare reform, he would not have been eligible for coverage unless he was a full-time student. Under the new healthcare legislation, he can be on my insurance until he's 26, so long as he's not working for a company that offers benefits.

I know I'm not the only person who has a 19-26 year old in the house without insurance coverage. I'd wager just as many Republican families as Democratic families are in that boat. So I won't be the only one going after this worthless POS for attacking a government program that helps them in very concrete, money-saving, life-enabling ways. I won't bother much more with this chunky old thuglet--he's finished. But Michelle Bachman and other psychopathic hopefuls are going to get the same reaction I just gave, but they'll only come to understand that after the craziest and least capable among them is chosen during their primary circus and they have to face the sane world in the general.
