Berlusconi loses Milan to the left
Source: Euronews

The count is now underway in Italy’s local elections, which are being closely scrutinised for any signs that this may be the beginning of the end for Silvio Berlusconi’s government. Near-complete results suggest Milan will swing left after being in Berlusconi’s pocket for two decades, and the left will hold Naples.

Milan is the key, where Giuliano Pisapia is in the lead. All the great social and political movements to have swept Italy in the last 150 years began in this industrial powerhouse. Berlusconi turned this local vote into a referendum on him and his government.

In Naples Luigi de Magistris holds the advantage. Both campaigns have been noisy, bitter affairs.

Berlusconi’s key coalition ally the Northern League is increasingly frustrated that their rising fortunes are being dragged down by the prime minister’s fading star, which may provide the recipe for a split and government collapse. The full results are imminent.

Silvio was just another Crusader. The Crusaders' Time has come and gone. Time to put adults back in charge.

Was there ever a "Southern Strategy" was there only ever voting computers?

2. How did he ever get back into power after being thrown out
several years, when he went against the wishes of the people and become a Bush BFF? I thought that was the last of him. Since then he's been involved in so many scandals it's hard to keep up.

Isn't he being prosecuted in some sex scandal right now also?

I hope Europe kicks out all these rightwing Globalists and starts prosecuting those responsible for the collapse of their economies, including leaders like him. As Iceland is doing.

3. Overall what this shows me is the bankruptcy of
the bourgeoisie electoral system. In the '10 Congressional elections, the Spaninsh elections recently, and now this election, plus polls in Germany showing that Merckel is in trouble means that the people are voting OUT incumbents whether on the bourgeoisie left OR right.

This means that the people KNOW something is wrong and they'll keep voting OUT the incumbent party until they feel the "something is wrong" has been stopped.

At some point they will realize that whether bourgeoisie left or bourgeoisie right, they're still bourgeoisie parties. Nothing will change until they ALL thrown out and the workers take control and change the whole fucking system.
