Tight Finish Possible in Calif. US House Race
Source: Associated Press

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A special congressional election Tuesday in California has given Republicans a surprising opening to seize a House seat in a Democratic stronghold and send a powerful message nationally going into 2012.

Democrats hold a commanding 18-point registration edge in the district where Barack Obama notched a 31-point win in 2008, but the likelihood of a meager turnout, combined with widespread voter anxiety over the economy, could make for a tight finish.

Republican businessman Craig Huey has been attacking President Barack Obama relentlessly, arguing the nation needs deep tax, debt and spending cuts to drive job growth. Democrat Janice Hahn has cast Huey as an extremist and sought to link him to Sarah Palin. She is still the favorite given the large registration edge for her party.

Instead of Sarah Palin, I suggest shining a light on the bankrollers behind Sarah Palin:

Big Corporate Greed Money neo-Fascist Party Bosses who would rather pocket whatever they
can get away with than pay their share of taxes for the good of our beleagured nation.

This race needs attention and hard hitting counter propaganda to hit back at the Right Wing
neo-Fascist Funded Propaganda Machine.

1. Maybe not so close
I read on TPM that she had s narrow lead among those who already voted and a big lead among those who plan to vote today. Could be the other way around, but I'm not worried.

3. Speculative article.
We'll have the results later on of this election. Could be that the NYT's speculation is incorrect. I'm betting it is.

But, they have pages to fill, you know.

4. I wonder
I wonder which candidate the "voting" machines have been pre-programmed to pick as the winner?

:sarcasm:

That's a crazy question. Of course it will be the corporate candidate!

5. "Drive Job Growth"
The Democrat should just point out how her opponent will kill jobs rather than drive job growth. By not correcting the record on jobs the Democrat is just trying to hand over the seat. Firing government workers does not create private sector jobs because it weakens demand, which is the driver of job growth. Hahn is running an incredibly stupid campaign because it is not about Sarah Palin, it is indeed about jobs.

10. Hopefully. We cannot afford another P.R loss.
Hahn's lead has been shrinking, still she is ahead and she has been on the campaign trail, unlike a certain Massachusetts Attorney General/Senatorial Candidate.

7. The NYTimes contradicts itself in the article...
Implying that a "tight finish" might really be a Republican victory and not long after that, saying that the Dem is still the favorite.
Yeah, and I might win the lottery tomorrow night. Good grief. It's not even a news story.

8. If Dems lose this seat, it is Hahn's FAULT!
IF, she loses this seat for us, it will be HER FAULT. Period. AND, our home and neighbors, will be furious!!!!

First...we now have a system in CA, that takes the two top vote getters, regardless of party, and they do the run off.

Second...Hahn relentlessly attacked Bowen, another DEM! And, what happened was that Huey, the crazy Thug, took the second
place position, getting into the runoff. THIS is directly Hahn's fault! She should NOT have been attacking Dems!

Third...Hahn did a HORRIBLE job defending herself against the LA City Council thing with the gang members. She looked and sounded
awful, from the KPCC interview.

Fourth...All over our area of her district, there are Huey signs! TONS and TONS and TONS of Huey signs. People (the masses)
are stupid...they will forget her name and vote for him instead, not even realizing that he's a RushThug/T.HATEbagger.

Fifth..."This race needs attention and hard hitting counter propaganda to hit back at the Right Wing neo-Fascist Funded Propaganda Machine."
You are correct to say this, ShockediSay, but again, we think this is her and her campaign's fault. Any idiot could have told her that it was bad strategy!

...I will be happy to eat crow if she wins...we will find out tonight.
