Tea Party Cancels Autumn Rally In KCK
Source: kmbc.com

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- Citing a lack of participation, organizers of a tea party rally and convention planned for this fall at The Woodlands racetrack in Kansas City, Kan., have canceled the event.

Organizers of the Freedom Jamboree said Tuesday that not enough tea party organizations would commit to the event, which was scheduled for late September and early October.

One of the organizers, William Temple, told The Kansas City Star that tea partiers weren't prepared to spend the money to attend the event.

The event was expected to attract Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Sen. Rick Santorum, both Republican presidential candidates.

2. Maybe they're unsure that Fox will still be there to give them adulatory coverage.
Just a damn shame, if ya ask me.

It's kinda nice to know where all the idiots and lunatics are every now & then.

8. Don't worry,
the press will cover it anyway. It's the TEA PARTY for God's sake! It's big news if they don't show up. The press will converge to cover the big empty.

7. Maybe if they moved it down to Wichita.
Held it in Charles Koch Arena.

;-)

Or maybe the pot just won't boil for the teabaggers anymore.

18. Oh they might pay........for news corp and or just fox news itself.
Stock goes low enough they might well make an offer which murdoch might find appealing since it keeps the channel atleast in the hands of those who he knows will keep using fox to support the gop with free publicity hiding behind a thin veneer of legit news.

5. The KKKochs and/or DicKKK Armey aren't giving for the AstroTurfing event...
Now that the Activist Supremes have given the OK for corporations to fund campaigns, the KKKoch Brothers and their sucking counter part, DicKKK Armey, no longer need all those crazies poor people to do their dirty work.

They can just funnel the money where ever they want.

6. On to the next fad . ..

Interesting that participation has fallen since Glen Beck is gone, and since the Koch Brother's hand in all of it was exposed. Now that Murdoch is under siege I wonder if the decline is going to be stopped.

As I remember, it was Glen Beck who kicked off the movement in the first place.

It will be interesting if the Murdoch empire comes down and sifting through the ashes it's discovered that the Conservative movement since Reagan is made of pure astroturf.

12. Please came back to Madison Wiscosnin
The recent Palin event was a blast! Had trouble talking for week after that one and my protest gear is just waiting for such an event. We outnumbered them 4 to 1 and all was peaceful

19. Got it in one
When the Tea Baggers were being heavily subsidized with charter buses and the like, it was let the good times roll! Now, when the "movement" no longer pays the freight for the orchestrated outrage, the Tea Baggers aren't about to spend their own money to keep things going. I wonder if any of them feel like they've been played for suckers? Or did these idiots serve their usefulness, and now they're discarded like a gym sock by a teenage boy?

17. Oh - how quickly they abandon
Do you see what is occuring? Too funny.

The money players backed the tea party to slash taxes and social benefits and bring big gubmint to spend less....except now the tea partiers refuse to raise the debt ceiling, and the money players finally have recognised the box they put themselves into.....so they abandon them.
