By John Shaw

WASHINGTON (MNI) - White House press secretary Jay Carney said Wednesday that President Obama is still pressing for an ambitious deficit reduction agreement, arguing that "$4 trillion in a balanced way would be the best possible outcome."

At a briefing, Carney said the president still believes a "significantly sized deal" of between $3 trillion and $4 trillion in deficit reduction is possible.

1. Yeah.... but he knows that the GOP won't ever agree to a deal with Obama

So this is just political rhetoric.

The end game has already been decided upon. McConnell's capitulation.

4. Nothing wrong with beating the pukes
over the head with the idea that a Democratic President is being more of a fiscal hawk than the gutless bunch of GOP pledge signers.

This will piss off the GOP base and help swing moderates both good goals IMO.

6. That's fine, provided the words "Social Security" don't occur in said deal.
Social Security has nothing to do with the deficit.

8. If Obama gets a $ Trillion dollar deal the GOP loose fiscal conservatism as their issue.
LOL! If the GOP scuttle the 4T dollar deal they loose their reputation as fiscal conservatives.
