7. Remember how nutty things were after OKC and 9/11?

One thing you can count on is that even official information will likely be wrong for the first 72 hours. Likely some bodies were simply counted twice, either because they were moved or because different people were assigned to count.

I'm just glad the count went down rather than up. The shooter must be so terribly disappointed.

17. BBC had 76, now dropped to 68.

The original link apparently said 76, the post now reads 68.

This may have been confusion -- the difference is 8, the number killed in the bomb blast (from the BBC article) -- rather than an update.

Indeed; hopefully, this really was just an isolate incident, but emergency management services need to get a little more up to speed.
