US troops under fire in Baghdad
http://www.dailytelegraph.news.com.au/common/story_page/0,5936,6863040%255E401,00.html

US troops stationed at Ibn Firnas airport, north of Baghdad, came under mortar attack Sunday night from a group of unidentified assailants, witnesses said today.

The assailants fired one mortar bomb at US troops at 10:30 pm (0330 AEST) before fleeing, witness Ibrahim Saleh told AFP, unable to say whether there had been any casualties.

US troops at Ibn Firnas airport, which is located five kilometres north of Baquba, 60 kilometres northeast of Baghdad, have come under regular mortar fire over past weeks.

Witnesses added that two US soldiers were wounded, one seriously, when their Humvee vehicle was hit coming from Baghdad in a convoy earlier Sunday.

The US military in Baghdad has not confirmed either attack.

Comment:

Contrast the above with this:

http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=540&e=2&u=/ap/20030803/ap_on_re_mi_ea/iraq

and we begin to see an emerging trend - US news sources are generally crap, and they rely on the US military for their numbers and reports...

2. Turns out the 2 day winning streak
really only lasted one day. NPR just reported that there was a casualty on Saturday.

Can't the US Propaganda Office get anything right? Jeez.

5. Well....
Casuality doesnt necessarily mean a death. Casualities refer to injuries aswell (paticularly serious ones) or even soldiers MIA.

7. The last two deaths...
were reported on Page 14 of the local newspaper (Cincinnati Enquirer). Guys are dying so regularly that it's no longer considered news.

6. To answer your question
Yes, U.S. news sources are crap. It's a damn shame you have to go to foreign sources to honestly find out what's going on in Iraq and the world, thank whatever diety we have the net. Without it as a source of information this junta could declare an ice storm in the middle of summer, and make it believable.

10. US News sources
That is why I started http://tvnewslies.org

It teaches people about the methods of media deception and it covers the news that is ignored by the media.

1/2 story is a complete lie!

Take a look at this page about the lapdog US press:

Peace,
Jesse
