Oil Price Hits Highest Level Since 1990
WASHINGTON - The price of oil rose to its highest level in more than 13 years on Monday as traders responded to the weekend killing of five Westerners working for an oil contractor in Saudi Arabia.

7. This is significant, because it states that....
Edited on Mon May-03-04 09:26 PM by whistle
..."On Monday, unleaded gasoline futures increased 2.7 cents to $1.263 per gallon _ the highest settlement on record since the contract started trading in December 1984."

So it was reported on the news that the national average for retail gasoline today is $1.84. Extrapolating the futures prices means that prices will not be lower than $1.89 per gallon within a month and could go to $2.00 or more based on the trend in futures prices over the past two weeks. Hang onto your socks little buddies, this is going to be a rocky ride.

P.S. I looked it up on my credit card bill and my fill ups last summer ran $23.50 per tank, but this summer I'm looking at $36.00 per fill up on the same vehicle. Crips, that's a 53.2% increase to my automobile fuel budget. All of that is profit in someones pocket!!! It is time for change. No more Bush!
