Texan sentenced to 11 years for chemical weapons
http://www.alertnet.org/thenews/newsdesk/N0471864.htm

DALLAS, May 4 (Reuters) - A Texas man described as a white supremacist who stockpiled weapons and the components of a cyanide bomb was sentenced to over 11 years in a federal prison on Tuesday.

William Krar, 63, was sentenced at a federal court in Tyler, Texas, to 135 months in prison after he pleaded guilty in November to possessing a chemical weapon. His common-law wife Judith Bruey was sentenced on the same day to just over four years for conspiring to possess illegal weapons.

In April 2003 Federal agents raided a storage shed in the east Texas town of Noonday where Krar had a weapons cache and found among other things enough sodium cyanide and components to turn it into a gas bomb.

According to information from prosecutors in court, Krar accumulated a large quantity of sodium cyanide and chemicals such as hydrochloric, nitric and acetic acids. Prosecutors said when sodium cyanide is mixed with acids such as those in Krar's possession, the combination can produce a lethal gas.

1. I'm relieved this has finally hit the US media
though 135 months seems a little lax -- must be one of those 'activist' Texas judges.

3. If this had been an Arab they would have gone for the death penalty
I don't know why white supremacists deserve any extra leniency.

8. he pleaded guilty
to having a chem weapon. So I suspect he got 11 years as lieniency for pleading to this as lesser charge?

The stuff is gas-chamber-execution/Auschwitz gas. Lighter than air so likely an indoor target? But who knows, maybe just a booby trap to keep guvment agents out of his armory.

11. I wouldn't want to occupy the Ranger Triangle
You know, the area between Lubbock, Plano, and bush's fake ranch in Crawford is quite hostile to American values. And then we'd have to replace the corrupt state government with Texas exiles...

I was talking to about WMDs several weeks ago. The idiot claimed he had a constitutional right to own nukes, chem weapons, bio weapons, etc and that no federal law prevented it.

7. I have been TRYING to point out the greater threat of domestic terror,...
,...by these right-wing, fundamentalist wackos.

We have had over 23X incidents of home-grown terror within our boundaries than international acts of terror.

WHEN ARE WE GOING TO CONFRONT OUR OWN PROBLEMS,...rather than being mislead into believing that we can "fix" the rest of the world.

It is a very sad combined state of pain and arrogance and denial and fear in which my country experiences,...none of which we OWN.

Here's a nice story, no way to know how much is true. But it is a fun read.

http://www.biblebelievers.org.au/slavery.htm

near the end :
look for Albert Pike and a letter dated 1871 that spells out the 1st, 2nd and 3rd world wars.

The Third World War was planned to result form the differences stirred up by Illuminati agents between the Zionists and the Arabs. The conflict was planned to spread worldwide. The llluminati, said the letter, planned to "unleash the Nihilists and Atheists" and "provoke a formidable social cataclysm which in all its horror will show clearly to the nations the effect of absolute atheism, origin of savagery and of the most bloody turmoil. Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with Christianity,

14. No offense, but no thank you,...
,...I have explored enough and will hang onto that anchor which is the common thread among all human beings: life, hope/love and fulfillment/value.

I seek the "basics" which we share. I am very weary of being a part of a "conscious" species that is abusing that gift and proving itself more along the lines of a consumptive disease than a contribution to LIFE.

I am so tired of watching human potential being churned by,...wacko freaks.

Blah, blah, blah,....

18. don't stay anchored too long
you'll get old ;-)

Some wacko freaks are the ones that best remind you to keep breathing. Try some Edgar Poe, The Police, Igor Stravinsky, Robin Williams, Hitchcock, Tchaikovsky(sp?)

Peace :-)

19. deep in the heart of Texas
I suppose I shouldn't entertain my thoughts of putting a fence around Texas--there's Molly, some fine DUers no doubt, BBQ that's almost right.... This list gets bigger if you think about it.

From AP breaking: http://ap.tbo.com/ap/breaking/MGASL1XUUTD.html

...

In April 2003, federal agents raided storage units the couple had rented in Noonday, just south of Tyler in East Texas.

Agents found nearly a half-million rounds of ammunition, more than 60 pipe bombs, machine guns, silencers and remote-controlled bombs disguised as briefcases. Pamphlets on how to make chemical weapons and racist literature were also discovered.

Agents also found nearly two pounds of almost pure sodium cyanide - enough to kill everyone in a space as big as a high school basketball arena, authorities said.

The findings led to one of the most extensive investigations of domestic terrorism since the 1995 Oklahoma City bombing.

22. I applaud this man's arrest, yet I fear it could set a horrible precedent
As one who is both an old car enthusist and making my own biodiesel, this is just one more bullshit way of hassling and imprisoning people. I have had friends of mine who are also into old cars get busted on meth making charges, just for possesion of certain chemicals in large quantities. I myself have been hassled about making meth, simply because I use muratic acid and ether in restoring old cars. Lord knows what kind of shit I'm going to be in for when I start up large scale biodiesel production.

This IS a man who needed to be taken off the street, there is no doubt about that. But this is a precedent that could also be used to harass and arrest innocent people also. Just because you have a stock of chemicals that COULD be used to make a bomb doesn't mean you should be busted as a terrorism suspect. If that is going to be the case, well hell, most people have enough chemicals under their kitchen sink to qualify as a terrorist.
