Gulf ministers sign landmark agreement
Kuwait City - Interior ministers of the Gulf Arab states on Tuesday signed a counter-terrorism pact calling for concerted efforts to confront terror.

Abdulrahman Attiya, secretary-general of the six-nation Gulf Co-operation Council, described the accord as the "most important" since the GCC was formed in 1981.

Earlier, he had said "terrorism has started to grow and its dangers to increase day after day, amid an absence of clear and frank visions to define its causes and nature" in the world.

1. Good statement, though
Gotta say that the spokeman at least hinted that fighting terrorism wasn't necessarily all about blowing people into little bits.

Earlier, he had said "terrorism has started to grow and its dangers to increase day after day, amid an absence of clear and frank visions to define its causes and nature" in the world.

I'd even take that statement as a rebuke of the * Admin's militarist policies.

2. You've got to be kidding! These are more fascist regimes than
Marcos - PI, Suharto - IN, Hitler - Germany, PahleviI - Shah of Iran...

I read a few years back Friendly Dictators Trading Cards moved on in life but just looking now I'm 95% sure he's put a bunch more cards up since the last time I browsed. Take a look.

3. I'm not commenting on who said what

I'm merely trying to highlight the one statement; a statement I wish we'd here more often over here.

A "clear and frank" discussion on the causes of terrorism would very quickly turn towards the repressive regimes of the Middle and Far East (and our support of them).
