An author on Indonesian affairs has suggested yesterday's bombing in Jakarta may be linked to the military struggle in the province of Aceh.
Asian editor of Washington Strategic Affairs, Kerry Collison, says it is wrong to automatically assume that terrorist organisation Jemaah Islamiah is responsible.
Mr Collison says the bombing seems more like a military incident
"The Acehnese in the last six months have been throwing grenades around Jakarta, bringing the war to 'let's say to Jakarta and the world has not sat up and paid any attention'," Mr Collison said.
"Now this car bombing, although it does have the fingerprints or hallmarks of what happened in Bali, it really smacks of military involvement because you cannot move that amount of TNT explosives around Jakarta without someone knowing what's going on."
