Tue May 4,12:15 PM ET Add Politics - AFP to My Yahoo!

THE HAGUE (AFP) - A delegation of 25 judges from Iraq (news - web sites) will be in The Hague (news - web sites) Wednesday and Thursday for a seminar on the rule of law with two US Supreme Court justices, the US embassy in the Netherlands said.

"(The seminar) is about building up a legal system in Iraq," an American official who asked not to be named, told AFP on Tuesday.

The Iraqi judges will discuss setting up a Supreme Court in Iraq, judicial independence, constitutional issues and the role of judges in two days of meetings with US Supreme Court justices Sandra Day O'Connor (news - web sites) and Anthony Kennedy (news - web sites), as well as other top international legal figures.

"It is not about the special tribunal that will be in charge of trying Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)," the US official said.
