1. They're going to get one...
Edited on Wed May-05-04 11:15 PM by Davis_X_Machina
...a big one, inside the Green Zone, someday. Maybe not tomorrow, but someday.

And there'll be a Beirut-sized disaster, a one-day, three-digit jump in the death toll from this foolishness.

And then we'll throw Sistani the keys, say "See ya!" and go home.

7. You have to remember that the june 30 hand off is ceremonial at best
we are n ot leaving Iraq. soldiers will be there 130,000 strong well into 2005. If the interim gov't we turn Iraq over to decides they want a Sheite President..we'll revoke local rule so fast it'll make your ass sorer than an American interrogation technique.

We are not handing over control of anything. We want Iraqi oil, we invaded and seized the oil wells first. We are not leaving until we are driven out by the Iraqi version of Minutemen.

We have spotted the enemy, and he is us.

3. They did this again?
Why cant they secure this area? If i am not mistaken it has been hit before. This is one of the entrances where all the Iraqis that work for us, translators mainly, line up to pass thru in the morning.

In our case, make that attacks.
Make no mistake, the prison pictures will
cost us more than we can even begin to imagine.

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide car bomb exploded Thursday near a checkpoint to the main complex housing U.S. administrative offices in central Baghdad, killing five civilians, a U.S. military officer said.

11. BBC: Nine killed in Baghdad blasts
A suicide bomber killed five Iraqis and a US soldier outside an entrance to the headquarters of the US-led coalition.

Several people were hurt, including two US soldiers said to be in a "very serious condition" after the first bomb to target coalition offices for weeks.

An officer said the attacker drove up to a checkpoint in central Baghdad and detonated explosives.

Just before midnight two soldiers were killed and two were wounded when a roadside bomb exploded in the city.
