Bulgarian Medics Sentenced to Death in Libya

SOFIA (Reuters) - A Libyan criminal court sentenced six Bulgarian medics and a Palestinian doctor to death by firing squad on Thursday for deliberately infecting hundreds of Libyan children with the deadly HIV virus, Bulgarian radio reported.

The health workers, detained in Tripoli in early 1999, were convicted of giving 426 Libyan children at a Benghazi hospital HIV, the virus believed to cause AIDS, with contaminated blood products. The verdicts may be appealed, national radio said.

Some background - these medics have been in jail for 4 years now. They hve been tortured and raped to admit their "crimes". The libyans say it is a USA cinspiracy to infect as many libyan children as possible with AIDS.

Glad to know the US is considering lifting travel restrictions, but it would be cool to see the ruins of Carthridge. Did they intentionally infect these kids or is it just some kind of coverup and revenge? I wonder what really happened.

The torture, the allegation that the CIA & Mossad ordered it, the innocent children infected, the whole thing. Too bad there isn't more evidence published for the readers to reach some form of logical conclusion.
