France sees Bush visit as healing time

Paris, , May. 6 (UPI) -- U.S. President George Bush's visit to France next month is seen as a "tremendous occasion" for the countries to salvage relations, French officials said.

The White House announced in late March that Bush would meet in Paris on June 5 with President Jacques Chirac and then travel to Normandy for the June 6 anniversary of the 1944 D-Day landing.

The Washington Times Thursday quoted Jean-Maurice Ripert, director for United Nations and international organizations at France's Foreign Ministry, as saying the visit "will be a tremendous occasion of showing that whatever the differences were, or still could exist on some issues, we are still allies and we are still working together."

"We can live with the idea that our closest friend and ally, the United States of America, does not always agree with us," Ripert said.

1. I lived in Paris way back when
and I hope Paris gives Smirky a very warm welcome. Remember neighbors, he thinks you are all secular cowards and liars.

2. Bwahhahahaha...Didn't they hear about the Queen's petunias?
Our Secret Service flat footed people destroyed the Queens gardens. And left the British with a humongous bill for his visit. For nothing. Please disinvite him. You can use that money much more efficiently. Ask smirk to invite Chirac.

3. Should be good for a few laughs anyway.
Remember the last time the chimp snapped at a reporter because he had the audacity to ask the French Prime Minister a question in French.
