CNN Breaking News: Bush is Sorry
Edited on Thu May-06-04 01:38 PM by white_rider
President Bush says he is sorry for the humiliation suffered by Iraqi prisoners at the hands of U.S. troops.
http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/meast/05/06/iraq.abuse.main/index.html
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush on Thursday said he told visiting king of Jordan that he is "sorry for the humiliation suffered" by Iraqi prisoners at the hands of U.S. troops in Iraq.

Bush said he told King Abdullah II that the photos made him and others "sick to our stomachs." And he said he made it clear that "wrongdoers will be brought to justice."

Bush made his comments at a joint Rose Garden news conference with the king.

Bush rejected calls for Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld to resign for his handling of the Iraqi prisoner abuse controversy.

"He is an important part of my Cabinet and he will stay in my Cabinet," Bush said.

But he says he's equally sorry
that the middle east doesn't realize that it's not our fault.

This is a non-apology masquerading as an apology.

4. * is sorry?
We all know that.

* is a sorry excuse for a breathing walking member of the human race.

Is * sorry that he usurped the office of President of the USoA?

Nah, he's just sorry that some pictures got away from their spin control machine and now he and his cronies have been exposed for the bastards that they are.

But at least now the Conservative media can say, "look, he said he was sorry. Get off his ass already!"

11. GOLDARNIT, he did NOT apologize!
What said was "I told King Abdullah that I was sorry for the humiliation suffered..."

First, notice he DID NOT apologize, he simply claimed he apologized to the king. He still has not looked into the camera and said point blank "I'm sorry."

Second, he did not apologize for any action, he just said he was sorry for the humiliation suffered.

How about "I'm sorry our troops tortured your people. I'm sorry our soldiers did not respect you as human beings. I'm sorry some people in my administration may have ordered such treatment, and at the very least did not consider it important enough to act on until after the media got the story. I'm sorry I did not act until the media learned about it."

THAT'S an apology. What Bush did was ambiguous, indirect and mealy-mouthed, and he still did not say "I'm sorry."

13. told who?
President Bush on Thursday said he told visiting king of Jordan.... erm, and 'said he told him he was sorry' doesn't mean he is sorry. It's a second-hand apology to the wrong person. WTF.

14. the height of dysfunction
yeah, yeah he's sorry. but it's really someone else's fault. because he never does anything wrong, even though he's persecuted by all those terrible liberals. he's just a humble man of god trying to do what the lord whispers in his ear to do. and here he is, everybody on his ass trying to get him to apologize for something that's not his fault.

i have to go puke now.
