BUSH OPENS HIS ARMS & HIS HEART TO WTC TEEN
May 7, 2004 -- President Bush was working the crowd at a campaign stop in Lebanon, Ohio, when a voice rose above the excited din: "This girl lost her mom in the World Trade Center on 9/11."

Bush stopped in his tracks, turned around and without fanfare, wrapped his arms around 15-year-old Ashley Faulkner, hugging her to his heart.

"It felt like he was trying to protect me," the teen told The Post yesterday.

"Here is the most powerful guy in the world, and he wants to make sure I feel safe," the high-school junior said. "He took 20 seconds to give me a hug for no other reason but to comfort me."

2. I was thinking...
...the same thing. :)

I wonder if this truly was a chance meeting. My guess it was scripted. Right down to the 'he was trying to protect me' soundbite.

27. Bush: "there's only one person who hugs"
The president went on, entangling himself in the strange syntax he uses when nervous: "And there's only one person who hugs the mothers and the widows, the wives and the kids on the death of their loved ones. Others hug, but having committed the troops, I've got an additional responsibility to hug, and that's me, and I know what it's like.

10. To bad someone that was informed was not there to ask
was your parent killed because this guy sat on his butt and read a story instead of making sure the air force was going all out to track down the jets that had been hijacked or was your parent killed when the first jet crashed because this guy let someone in his administration stop Jets from being intercepted immediately after they were found to be hijacked ?

11. "I'm sorry I had to let your mommy get killed"
"But you see we had this agenda. To be able to carry out this agenda we needed another Pearl Harbor. So, I had to let your mommy be sacrificed for our cause. You see unless I allowed your mommy to be murdered I couldn't be doing all of the wonderful things that I am doing now. Don't you think it was worth the life of your mommy? You understand don't you? I had to let her die so I could try and run the world the way I see fit. Oh and by the way God told me to do it. That makes you feel better right?"

How much more mileage is this fucking PIG going to get out of the murders he committed on 9/11??

I am so sick of everything. This has been the worst week and now I gotta look at this shit? Drink the paint my fellow Americans, drink the paint!

I just want to run off to a deserted island for about a month. I've had just about all I can take!

he is too busy looking at the camera with one of his stupid "I'm trying to look compassionate" looks. I think he looks more constipated than compassionate!

: "This girl lost her mom in the World Trade Center on 9/11."

- The Bush* team had a PLANT in the audience with the job of finding a girl like this (with a heart-tugging story) and calling attention to her. This is the oldest trick in the book..the favorite of snake oil salesmen and charlatans. (I bought some of that Bush* Snake Oil and it cured me of the vapors. It's a miracle!)

"...hugging her to his heart."

- This is a repeat of the 2000 election...where 'man of the people' stories are manufactured about Bush* by a media in the pocket of GOP interests.

17. yes, it's not too much of a stretch to guess they researched this
. . . the family has a website in memory of the mother, who apparently was quite philanthropic or something, so why not plan an appearance in her town, get a contact there to make sure the girl is thrust up toward the president while calling out about 9/11. Easy.

19. and it was so crowded, nobody else saw it.
Edited on Fri May-07-04 06:17 AM by soup
Does that make sense?

and nobody else in their proximity had a camera? or was snapping pics as *jr worked the line of admirers? and why would this guy take his daughter's 'not for public consumption private moment' and sell it to the press?

-----
"There were so many people crowded around, there was no way (anyone else) saw what happened. It was not for public consumption," Faulkner said.

"It was a private moment - one I just happened to steal," he said, referring to the photo he managed to take.
-----

It's too early in the morning for this. bah.

on edit: odd. the 'anyone else' in the 'there was no way anyone else saw what happened' didn't post. Was it the brackets placed around that part in the article?

coffee.

another edit: :hi: Thanks, ima_sinnic. Used parentheses and it worked. The brackets were trying to turn it into a url.

he was no where to be found then, and too bad he didnt open his "mind" to all the warnings before 9/11. I'm sick of him exploiting 9/11.

23. I am sure all the emergency workers, area residents caughing now
of WTC disease - because as Condi testified W was anxious to "open Wall Street" and had the EPA lie about the asbestor report are extremely moved.
Come to think of it, why was the teen in Lebanon, Ohio? Could it be asthma?
Wasn't he also supposed to hug the families of those killed in Iraq? he sure bitched enough about how hard it is - and never got to it.
I don't have words to express howdisgusted and angry I am of my city being used like this. I almost cam understand what Iraqis may feel.

25. I hesitate to sound like a heartless bastard...
...but expect to see this photo-op used in place of the "Mission Accomplished" photo-op this year.

It's a shame that this girl didn't know enough to ask George why he sat in a classroom while he knew that people, including her mom, were dying.
