Nepal PM submits resignation
Nepalese Prime Minister Surya Bahadur Thapa has announced that he is leaving office.

"I have decided to submit my resignation to His Majesty the King with effect from today," Mr Thapa said in a nationwide broadcast on Friday.

King Gyanendra dissolved the elected government in 2002 because of its handling of the war with Maoist rebels.
