Rueful Rumsfeld: `Cruel' truth hurts: Rape and murder feared in Iraq abuse
Rueful Rumsfeld: `Cruel' truth hurts: Rape and murder feared in Iraq abuse
By Noelle Straub
Saturday, May 8, 2004

Signaling the worst revelations are yet to come, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld said the additional photos show ``acts that can only be described as blatantly sadistic, cruel and inhuman.''

``There are a lot more photographs and videos that exist,'' Rumsfeld testified before Congress.

``If these are released to the public, obviously it's going to make matters worse. That's just a fact.''

The unreleased images show American soldiers beating one prisoner almost to death, apparently raping a female prisoner, acting inappropriately with a dead body, and taping Iraqi guards raping young boys, according to NBC News.

3. CERTAINLY NOT FOR THE TRUTH
These Pukes are so crooked and dishonest they can't act like normal people. Everything they do in life, revolves upon maintaining control of the SHEEP and THE SHEEPS MONEY.

16. It means that
he might get re-selected. The American people should be in the streets and demanding the impeachment and trial of Bu$h and Co. Do you see any of this happening. The rest of the world is pretty pissed.

19. I think I read somewhere
That there may be a July 4th march in DC to demand just that. We should be organizing demostrations NOW, imo; our silence implies consent to the rest of the world. It's simply unacceptable.

8. Worse for Their Work
From his words it appears to me that there is no sense of morality. It has only resulted in a problem for their work.
Where will this all end?

21. Its a nostalgia for the old days
when Blacks stayed in the back of the bus and women kept their mouths shut. They are too PC to say this tho-- but their actions tell it all

2. OK....so there ARE more photos and VIDEOS....
and things "will make things worse". Well gee Rummy! How about
following the Geneva Accords, huh? How about treating
prisoners of war with dignity and respect? Oh...I forgot, we're not
"at war" per Herr Bush and Herr Rove. What the FUCK is going on here?!
Is the US above International Law?

I'm starting to see a pattern here...first Israel and its abuses in
the occupied territories and now the US in Iraq. This is
BULLSHIT!

5. What bothered me the most...
Dumbssfeld said what happened was un-American! Wow, what a short memory. What about Vietnam, Nicaraqua, Chile, etc.... Abuse and war crimes are very American.

6. My guess is if 2 cd's
were made, whoever made them, made more that 2. Probably duplicates all over the place. Why burn just one of each?

9. Yes, there must be copies galore on computers all over the place
Otherwise the Pentagon and White House would be in denial and cover-up mode. Digital technology and the wired world have made that impossible in this case. Maybe this was their karmic payback for making fun of Gore and twisting his statements in their "I invented the internet attack" on him.

7. Spread this quote around:
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said the scandal is ``going to get worse'' and warned that the most ``disturbing'' revelations haven't yet been made public.
``The American public needs to understand, we're talking about rape and murder here,'' he said. ``We're not just talking about giving people a humiliating experience; we're talking about rape and murder and some very serious charges.''

12. Can you picture Jr. firing Rumsfeld? He probably grabs his weenie
when Rumsfeld enters the room. And he likely bends over when Cheney walks in.

15. Okay, can someone explain this to me. . . . .
Rumsfeld says there are pictures and video "out there." Is this kind of like his knowing exactly where the WMDs were in Iraq? Or does he actually know that there are pictures and videos and he knows where they are? Are they in the possession of the Pentagon, or has Spec. Darby (sp) merely told them it's floating around out there?

If, in fact, Rummy knows where these pix are, why doesn't he defuse the whole thing BY RELEASING THEM.

"Here they are, folks. No one can blackmail me or Our Great President with them any more. It's shameful and it's disgusting, but we have to own up to it."

Wouldn't that lessen the blow?

Or am I just out of my freakin' mind and

18. I suspect that they are not sure how many copies are 'out there'
If they knew they could get them all, they would spare no expense to get them and cover this thing up. I think they would go as far as murder. But they just aren't sure yet, so they are letting things out little by little, as little as they can at each step. Perhaps as they do so they are trolling the internet to locate the whistle blower, in case he or she ups the ante.

The one thing we can be sure of, is that they will prevent the truth from coming out with all their might.
