Images of Iraqi Prisoners Used in Art
Images of Iraqi Prisoners Used in Art
By HAMZA HENDAWI

BAGHDAD, Iraq -- The crouching man is naked, his hands tied and his head covered with a hood. The alabaster sculpture on display at a Baghdad gallery bears a striking resemblance to some of the shocking photographs that emerged last week of Iraqi prisoners abused by their American guards at the Abu Ghraib prison.

But the 15-inch sculpture -- with words "We are living American democracy" inscribed on its base -- was fashioned two months ago.

"We knew what went on at Abu Ghraib," Abdul-Kareem Khalil, the artist, said Saturday. "The pictures did not surprise me."

The nature of America's occupation of Iraq -- which many Iraqis increasingly perceive as intolerable -- is finding its way to the local art scene.

1. Bush likes Sharon so much that he decided to imitate him.

Now we have our own little Arab occupation. How cute.

9. Bartcop!! who wants to PERSONALLY torture Somalis??
As long as we have so many of our special ops boys in the Middle East, don't we still owe Somalia a super-severe ass-whopping from that ugly shit in 1993? I think as long as we're in the area anyway, we should drop in on those bahat chewers with a dozen rolls of duct tape, a blow torch and a pair of needle-nosed pliers and explain to each one of those sons of dogs the precise cost of dragging the bodies of our brave soldiers thru the streets. There's a score that needs to be settled.

To the sons of dogs who dragged the headless bodies of our heroes thru the streets, I say this:
I would execute you my own goddamn self if I was there. I would not spend the time on the duct tape and the pliers, (which is a Pulp Fiction joke, by the way). I would quickly do the job and then I would return to BartCop Manor and enjoy my luxury tequila.
<snip>
The Marines were in Mogadishu to feed the starving, or at least that was Bush's story.
They were following orders from an inept commander-in-chief who sent them there without the armor they needed to protect themselves just like The Monkey did to our boys today.
They died as heroes for trying to do a good thing, or at least that was Bush's story.

I guess things are different coming from a sand n***** as opposed to the regular kind.

7. We know they suppress and inhibit truthful verbal information,
now we'll find out if they'll suppress art.
