May 8 (Bloomberg) -- President George W. Bush said the U.S will continue its mission in Iraq after transferring sovereignty to an interim government on June 30, as lawmakers warned that more explosive images of soldiers abusing Iraqi prisoners will emerge.

`Mistake After Mistake'
Retired General Wesley Clark, who competed with Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts for the Democratic presidential nomination, said the prison abuses further jeopardized the U.S. mission as the ``self-imposed deadline'' for the sovereignty transfer approaches.

`Prepare the Public'
Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina said the abuse of prisoners may evolve into a scandal about rape and murder as pictures and videos surface that are more graphic than those shown in the last week on television and published in newspapers.

`Chain of Command'
Kerry said yesterday that Bush has responsibility for the scandal.
``Secretary Rumsfeld apologized on Capitol Hill,'' Kerry said in a speech in Arizona to the Democratic Leadership Council. ``But the chain of command goes all the way to the Oval Office. If there is to be blame, it properly rests here in this office and with this president.''

No More Unilateralism
Clark said the U.S. needed to engage its allies for help in Iraq.
